Game Journalism Day 2

Question 1: What is the challenge today?
The challenge today is the cold weather and the risk of hypothermia. Even though I wore a thick layer of clothes, I was still freezing. However, I started 2 fires and then cure the cold. Another challenge is the lack of fuels and wood and so it was really difficult to start a fire. Because the land wasn't all flat, it is not possible to place a fire anywhere I want so I think that started a problem, too. Lastly, the wild animals like the wolves are really dangerous and really risky to meet one.

Question 2: What did I do today?
  • I found many different shelters and I picked up some materials from those places.
  • I started to collect sticks and I was able to make fire to help me survive the cold night.
  • I slept and found a way to melt the snow to make portable water.
  • I found out how to light up the storm lantern to help me see through the night.
  • I think if I had enough food, water, sleep, shelter, and a warm place to sleep then I might have survived longer.
  • I went to the fishing cabin, the train station, and another shelter.
  • I survived through 2 nights.

Question 3: What is charcoal for?
Charcoal is what left of the burned fire? Charcoal is used for surveying local area so you can find a way to get to different locations. It can also be used for sketching and mapping.

Question 4: What survival tips do you have?
  •      I think that if there are carcasses like deer and rabbit, there might be some crows around. And usually, the wolf is the killer and so the crow feathers around might warn me that there might be dangerous animals to watch out for and don't go near that spot.
  •      Melt some snow by fire the get drinkable water.
  •      Find a shelter before it gets dark.
  •      Drink and eat before going to sleep so you don't wake up starving and sleep beside a fire.

Game Journalism Day 1

Question 1: What is the challenge?

The challenge is the cold weather, wild animals, and the lack of basic foods, supplies, and weapons. The freezing temperature increases the risk of hypothermia and can cause death. Without food, drink and warm clothes, the game is going to end really quickly. The most difficult task is to find enough materials to create stuff to survive like to find tint to start a fire or to find enough sticks and wood to make a shelter. Besides, wolves are dangerous to face without a weapon.

Question 2: What did you do today?

             1. I first explore this game and see the environment around me. In the cabin, I found some useful stuff and I collected it(some old food,antibiotics,...)
            2. I learned that if I use the left mouse, I will take that item and right mouse to leave that item.
            3. I created a fire using firewood and stick I found as well as some birch bark for initiating the fire.
            4. I opened the inventory and see my items including food, drink, weapons,etc,...After exploring the cabin, I started to light up the stove and going to sleep.I went outside and I collected a lot of sticks, crow feathers, and birch barks.
             5. I walked for a long time and I had the hypothermia( too cold) and I was out of food.
            6. I saw many animals like deer, rabbit, crow, moose carcass, and finally I was being chased by a wolf. I fought back by clicking the left mouse and I survived.
              7. I think that I really need patience to play this game.
